Who We Are

The vision of our church community is to further the work of Christ, love each other sincerely, and missionally serve those in need around us by the Holy Spirit’s guidance. We desire to bring people to faith in the presence and power of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Our Vision.

Faith Fellowship is an Assembly of God church that was birthed as a church plant from New Hope Chapel AG in 2005. Our community church in West Greenwich become our family home and the first step of our journey. Always focused on missions, we established the Faith Food Pantry in 2012. After serving seventeen years in the West Greenwich Community, the Lord opened the door for our growing church to move to a new location in the town of Coventry. We look expectantly to the hope of a glorious future in Christ.

Our Pastors

Senior Pastor Steve Shippee

Though Pastor Steve was born and raised in Rhode Island, he left the area at an early age, only to return with a passion and a vision to share the love and truth of Jesus in New England. He has been serving the body of Christ fulltime since the mid-90s both here in the States and around the world. While pursuing a career in aviation, the Lord challenged Him one day in the air if he would give up this desire and serve Him. Pastor Steve then attended RHEMA Bible Training Center in Tulsa, OK, and has a theology degree from Sweetwater Bible College in Phoenix, Arizona, he is also ordained through the Assemblies of God.

Co-Pastor and Worship Leader Evelina Shippee

Born in Communist Bulgaria, Evelina escaped the Iron Curtain at age nine, eventually settling in Sweden with her family. Since childhood she has been using her singing talents to bless the Body of Christ. Traveling world wide for over 10 years, she ministers with compassion to see lives changed under the presence of God in worship. Evelina is a graduate of the Word of Life Bible School in Uppsala, Sweden.

FAQs

  • We have a parking lot that extends to another gravel lot behind the church that you can park in. Depending on what time you come, the actual parking lot may fill up, so you can just park on the grass. At this time, we are working on expanding our parking.

  • You can wear whatever you are comfortable in! Some of our older family like to wear their “Sunday Best” while our younger family sport jeans and a t-shirt. Whether you lean to one side or are in the middle, our focus is coming as we are to Jesus.

  • Our Sunday Service starts at 10:30 am. We are located at 1395 Nooseneck Hill Road in Coventry right across from the post office and the Inman and Tourgee Attorney office.

  • All of our services have a basic structure, but our mission is being led by the Holy Spirit in however a way He wants to go. We begin with a joyful song of praise to start the service. We then have a time of announcements, giving, and dismissing the children to Sunday School. Afterwards, we enter into a deeper time of worship that is followed by the preaching of the Word. We end with alter time, prayer, and quiet worship. Our families then join together for a time of fellowship and food downstairs in our fellowship hall.

  • During service, we offer care for your children from infancy to 12 years old.

Our older kids (4-7 yrs) and (8-12 yrs) meet downstairs in designated classrooms led by our wonderful teachers. They are encouraged in songs, bible verses, and a live puppet show. At the end of the service, you can pick them up from downstairs.

  • Yes, we do! We have Prayer Meetings on Tuesdays at 11am. Our Young Adults (ages 18-28) meet on Thursday nights at 7 pm. Men’s Group is also on Thursday Nights at 7pm. Our Youth (ages 12-17) meet on Friday nights from 6:30-8:30pm. Women’s Group meets every first and third Saturday of the month at 9:30am.
